The American Automobile Association (aka AAA) says that nearly 113 million people will be traveling this holiday season – up 3.6 million people from last year. AAA says 2022 is expected to be the third busiest year for holiday travel since they began tracking in 2000. In addition, they estimate that 102 million people are planning to drive to their destinations despite higher gas prices.Indeed…
“This year, travel time will be extended due to Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on Sundays…With hybrid work schedules, we are seeing more people take long weekends to travel because they can work remotely at their destination and be more flexible with the days they depart and return” Said Paula Twidale, AAA’s Senior Vice President of Travel
