The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is reporting that the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) was up 0.1% in march, 2023. The all items index was up 5% for the 12 months ending in March. Once again this month, the BLS says the index for shelter was the largest contributor to the monthly all items increase, more than offsetting a decline in the energy index. In addition, CNBC produced a chart breaking down inflation for the month of March 2023.
