The federal government recently released new residential construction data for January 2016 that show that housing starts fell 3.8% compared to December, 2015. However, they were still 1.8% higher than January 2015’s rate and still remain above the 1 million mark. Housing starts for multi-families dropped 2.5%, compared to December. Bad weather is mostly to blame as many construction projects were delayed/disrupted.
