The U.S. Department of Commerce reported this week that housing starts jumped 10.5% in November to 1,173,000 which marked the eighth straight month that starts remained above 1 million units, the longest stretch since 2007. In addition, November’s number was 16.5% higher than one year ago. Building permits rose as well, 11% higher than October’s number and 19.5% higher than one year ago.
