The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is reporting that the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) was up 0.4% in October, 2022. However, the all items index was up 7.7% for the 12 months ending in October. Of note; The index for shelter contributed over half of the monthly all items increase, with the indexes for gasoline and food also seeing increases.
