The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently reported that sales of new single-family houses in November were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 733k. This is 17.5% higher than October’s revised and is 26.6% higher than November 2016. The median sales price of new houses sold in November 2017 was $318,700. The average sales price was $377,100. There were an estimated 283k new houses for sale at the end of November representing a 4.6 month supply.
