The U.S. government is reporting that sales of new single-family houses in July, 2019 were 12.8% lower than June’s revised rate but were 4.3% higher than in July, 2018. The median sales price of new houses sold in July was $312,800 and the average sales price was $388k. The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of July was 337k representing a 6.4 months supply at the current sales rate.
