The U.S. Government is reporting that sales of new single-family houses in April, 2024 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 634k, which is 4.7% lower than March’s revised rate and is 7.7% lower than one year ago. The median sales price of new houses sold in April was $433,500 with an average sales price of $505,700. There were an estimated 480k new houses for sale at the end of April representing a 9.1-month supply at the current sales rate.
