The U.S. government is reporting that total construction spending in January, 2023 was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1,825.7 billion, which is 0.1% below December’s revised estimate but is 5.7% higher than one year ago. Residential construction came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $847.4 billion in January, which is 0.6% below December’s revised estimate.
