A recent report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Midwest Economy Blog crunches recent moving data to examine moving patterns between states, metropolitan areas, and other locations across America since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Primarily, migration patterns in 2018 & 2019 compared with those for 2020 and 2021.
“Our analysis of United Van Lines data shows that the patterns of pre-pandemic moves were mostly the same as those of pandemic-era moves. However, the number of moves was substantially lower after the pandemic began.”
