According to the ADP National Employment Report for September, 2026, private sector employment increased by 90k jobs. ADP says hiring accelerated for the first time since May, led by education and health care and leisure and hospitality. Financial activities and professional and business services showed weakness. The ADP National Employment Report is an independent and high-frequency view of the private-sector labor market based on the aggregated and anonymized payroll data of more than 26 million U.S. employees.
“It’s a strong report. After a three-month slowdown, job creation rebounded and pay growth remained solid.” Said ADP chief economist Dr. Nela Richardson.
