The U.S. government is reporting
that total construction spending in January, 2026 was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2,190.4 billion, down 0.3% from December’s revised number. In addition, January’s estimate is 1% higher than one year ago. Residential construction came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $933 billion in January, which is 0.8% lower than December’s revised estimate.
