The U.S. government is reporting that total construction spending in January, 2024 was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2,102.4 billion, which is 0.2% lower than December’s revised estimate and is 11.7% higher than one year ago. Residential construction came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $900.8 billion in January, which is 0.2% higher than December’s revised estimate.
