According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 199k, in November 2023, with the unemployment rate coming in at 3.7%. Interestingly, government employment increased by 49,000 in November – which is 25% of the total.
